About me
My name is Emma Harper and I hold a Level 5 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (Edexcel) from Stamford College and have completed both Levels 2 and 3 Certificates in Counselling Skills (CPCAB) from City College Peterborough. I also hold a BA (Hons) in Public ……
I believe strongly in the power of a safe and non-judgemental environment from which to think, talk and start to bear what may have felt unbearable; and it is the quality of the relationship between therapist and client that is essential ….
Once initial contact has been made, a session can be booked where we discuss what it is that is bringing you to therapy, and can build a plan of treatment to suit you, going forward. I work in person as well as via zoom or a telephone call.
“Therapy helps us experience more meaning, more contentment and more fulfillment as we begin the process of finding ourselves and freeing the shackles of our past experiences.”

I contacted Emma when I was at my lowest point, I was literally drowning in grief that had been held back with alcohol.
Emma helped me see ways to work through everything and understand my grief along with other issues tied up in this.
From the first session I felt lighter and my mind felt clearer.
Throughly professional but instantly I felt relaxed and comfortable to talk freely without judgment.

I approached Mistletoe Counselling when I was going through a stressful period in my life. I guess at first, I was unsure how, if at all counselling would help, however from the outset Emma was approachable, easy to form a working relationship which dispelled any concerns I had. I felt Emma listened to everything and understood what I was saying in a relaxing environment. At no point did I feel uneasy, or judged which helped me on my path to recovery.
I would highly recommend "Mistletoe Counselling.”

I went to Emma for counselling for over 3 months. Emma has amazing listening skills. Her sincerity and genuine interest in helping me with issues shone through in each session. She is very approachable, non-judgemental, and friendly. Every time I left after completing a session, I felt like I had made some progress and felt equipped to deal with things better, even if slightly so. I would recommend her and cannot thank her enough...

At the beginning of this year, I felt broken. Strained relationships with my parents, another solicitor’s letter from an oppressive neighbour, lack of direction at work, drinking and smoking weed every day, generally unhealthy…. And then I got dumped! I recognised that every romantic relationship I got into spiralled into me losing myself and depending on my partner as my only source of happiness until the strain broke us. At 44 years of age, I wanted to break this cycle. I reached out to several therapists/counsellors…a brief phone call with Emma and I knew she was the one for me. I immediately felt comfortable telling her all the gory details of my life. Emma has empathy and no matter what I told her I never felt judged. She listens, lets you take things at your own pace and helps you piece together the central theme of issues. I felt entirely safe with Emma and she has helped me gain insight into and overcome some of the deep held beliefs that have been holding me back. I cannot recommend Emma enough. She has been instrumental in the transformation of my mindset over the last 6 months. Thank you so so much.

"Emma has been amazingly supportive with every step of the counselling process. I was quite scared of starting counselling but from the first phone call to our last session, she helped put me at ease.
She was always punctual and I felt safe speaking with her. She made our 10 sessions an insightful, rollercoaster of a journey that I needed to understand myself better.
