My name is Emma and I hold a Level 5 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (Edexcel) from Stamford College and have completed both Levels 2 and 3 Certificates in Counselling Skills (CPCAB) from City College Peterborough. I also hold a BA (Hons) in Public Administration and Law from De Montfort University. I have thirteen years’ experience of working for a major utility as a Public Affairs Manager.
I benefited hugely from counselling when life threw some hard knocks and I subsequently changed my career so that I could help others. I have several years’ experience of working in person-centred counselling practice in volunteering placements in Sawtry School Academy, HMP Stocken and the Road Victims Trust.
In addition I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), the UK’s leading professional body for the counselling profession and work to the BACP Ethical Framework to ensure I work safely, ethically and in accordance with UK law. My practice is predominantly person-centred although integrative techniques are incorporated if they are beneficial to my client. My focus is ensuring I respect my client’s ability to trust in themselves and their own feelings and thoughts to make decisions that will be in accordance with their desires and needs.
