Question: How can counselling help?
Answer: Talking to someone who is unbiased and non-judgemental allows you to process your concerns and problems in a better way. Counselling helps you get to the core of your concerns and problems in a better way. Counselling helps you get to the core of your concerns and help explore possible solutions for you to resolve your problems.
Question: Is everything I say confidential?
Answer: I work in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework and will actively protect the confidentiality and privacy of my clients. There are exceptions to this commitment where our work maybe discussed in supervision to improve the quality of my work and to protect a client or others from serious harm, including safeguarding commitments and when legally required or authorised to disclose.
Question: How long is a session?
Answer: The main session will last for 50 minutes with 5 minutes allocated for settling into the session and 5 minutes for preparing for the session ending.
Question: Where and how are the sessions undertaken?
Answer: The session can be undertaken either face to face in my in my counselling room in Stonely, Cambridgeshire, or via zoom or other online platforms that might be more suitable for you. I am also able to offer telephone counselling.
Question: How much does a session cost?
Answer: Each session has a 50-minute duration and costs £45. I discount my rate for trainee counsellors and their fee is £35.
Question: How do I pay?
Answer: Card payment service in person or by telephone. Bank Transfer prior to session. Bank details will be provided.
Question: How many sessions will I need?
Answer: Everybody will want different things from counselling. Some will need six but others may require more. We will regularly discuss where you are the process and the outcome you would like to achieve. You will decide the pace and number of sessions that you want to commit to.
If possible, I would be grateful if you could provide 24 hours’ notice to cancel our appointment. If 24 hours cancellation is not given the session will need to be paid for. I do understand, however, that things happen outside of our control and I will use my discretion on a case-by-case basis. If I must cancel our appointment due to illness or in an emergency, I will re-arrange your appointment as quickly as possible.
Question: Can I contact you between sessions?
Answer: I can be contacted 9am until 5pm Monday to Friday. If I am unavailable, please leave a message and I will endeavour to get back to you as quickly as possible. If you need urgent help the following options are available to you:

Question: Do I counsel children?
Answer: I counsel adults from the age of 18 and above.
